Changing Places/Adult Change Facilities Assessments
Adult Change Facilities and Changing Places provide suitable facilities for people who have high physical support needs and are unable to use standard accessible toilets.

Changing Places and Adult Change Facilities are intended to meet the needs of people with high support needs who are unable to us a typical accessible toilet. Without a toilet facility that meets their needs, the lived experience of this group of people, their families and carers is very restricted.
Changing Places include:
- A height adjustable, adult sized change table
- A constant charge ceiling track hoist
- A centrally located peninsula toilet pan with grabrails and backrest
- Generous circulation spaces
- A large automatic door
- A privacy screen

Architecture & Access is a member of the Changing Places technical advisory group and was instrumental in the development of the Information Guide and Technical Standard for Australia.
Architecture & Access will assess any facility against the Changing Places Standard, allowing it to be registered as an accredited Changing Places facility.
