In honour of Wendy Lovelace. Her legacy lives on through accessible design.
The MS Moonlight Walk is an annual fundraising event held each October in Brisbane and is a beacon of hope for those living with multiple sclerosis (MS) and neurological conditions.
Neurological conditions are a group of disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord and/or nerves, and impact the way your mind and body work. These include multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinsons, dementia, epilepsy, motor neuron disease (MND), stroke, and many, many others.
The MS Moonlight Walk helps connect the 1 million Queenslanders living with a neurological condition to a better life by raising vital funds for MS nursing, MS research, the Neuro Assist helpline and to open Neuro Wellness Hubs across Queensland. Few people know :
- 1 in 4 Queenslanders live with a neurological condition
- Neuro conditions are one of the top 5 leading cause of death in Queensland
- Only 6% of Queenslanders with a neuro condition receive funding via the NDIS.
Architecture & Access’s Queensland Access Leader, Patricia Flores (Trish) has traditionally participated in this annual event with a dear friend and colleague, Wendy Lovelace. Fuelled by her love of architecture and informed by her lived experience with MS, Wendy was a passionate advocate on behalf of people with a disability. Wendy experienced life richly prior to sadly passing away peacefully in May 2022.
To maintain the tradition and to honour Wendy, the Architecture & Access Brisbane team joined the MS Moonlight Walk on Saturday evening of 19th October. Strolling in the moonlight for 6km through the beautiful Roma Street Parklands and Victoria Park, we took time to socialise, chat about life beyond the office and reflect on what is important to each of us whilst meandering along winding pathways adorned with fresh flowers and trickling fountains.
With help from our supporters, we were all pleased to have contributed towards getting within touching distance of the fundraising goal of $400,000, with funds raised at time of writing at $381,984 and fundraising remaining open until Saturday 16 November:

The evening was rounded off with a debrief drink and bite to eat before retiring the lanterns once more, until October 2025.
