Access Consulting for Hume Indoor Cricket Centre
The Greenvale Indoor Cricket Centre is designed to be an inclusive community hub for sports and recreation. Architecture & Access was engaged in 2022 by DS Architects, with our team providing access consulting from Schematic Design phase to Construction, ensuring the facility met the needs of individuals with diverse abilities, including those with mobility challenges.
We collaborated with the design team to integrate accessible features using a holistic approach, addressing pedestrian access, parking, ramps, doorways, sanitary facilities, hearing augmentation, signage and more. Additionally, the Centre’s inclusive design features, accessible seating, family-friendly spaces, and areas for social interaction, create an environment that encourages participation from everyone. This considerate approach does not only address regulatory requirements, but also fosters a sense of community, where individuals of all abilities can come together and engage in sports and recreation.
In addition to providing practical access solutions, our team was responsible for preparing performance solution reports, ensuring the Centre met the required accessibility standards and regulations. We worked diligently to respond promptly to any queries raised by the design team, which helped maintain the project timeline and ensure compliance with accessibility guidelines and universal design principles.
