Architecture & Access Continuing Professional Development (CPD) – tap into our skills, knowledge and experience

Our courses educate architects, designers and other professionals on specialist access knowledge in the built environment.

  • Do you know what the gradient within the shower area of an accessible sanitary facility should be?
  • True or false, the circulation space of 1540mm x 2070mm allows a person using a wheelchair to complete a 180-degree turn?

These example assessment questions are part of our CPD experience and are a way to ensure that our presentation was a true learning experience for you and or your staff.

Our CPD presentations are designed to efficiently pass on our specialist access knowledge. Our qualified, accredited and experienced team are all members of their professional body and have up-to-date knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act, Access to the Premises Standards and the National Construction Code. We are industry leaders aligning our advice with the goals of Universal Design. Our presentations will hone your skills, knowledge and experience.

Not only do you receive a point towards your ongoing professional registration requirements, but you will also enhance your learning on how the legislation applies in the area of access and how human factors apply and how people with a disability function and use the built environment.

Presentations can be held in your office, virtually (online) or you can come to us! Generally, the presentation will be 60 minutes including question time. We generally find question time is well received and is an opportunity to receive expert access advice. Refreshments can be provided
upon request.

Upon completion of the presentation, you will be provided with a certificate of attendance. We can work with you to provide assessment material and certificates to meet your CPD requirements.

Our suite of presentations include:

  • Introduction to Access Consulting
  • Introduction to Safety in Design
  • NCC Livable Housing Design
  • Performance Solutions ‘How to avoid them’
  • Design for Neurodiversity
  • Specifying the right door hardware for accessibility
  • Accessible aged care design

Architecture & Access can also work with you to design a suitable presentation and learning opportunity for your team, including assessment outcome material.
